5 yr of nirbhaya: Still women r unsafe in nation

5 years after Nirbhaya, still women r unsafe  in this nation..

We know nirbhaya  because she did not died there at the roadside. She clung on, because she was determined to tell the police enough to catch the men who had violated her.

“I want to survive,” she wrote on a piece of paper she handed to her doctors.

When Nirbhaya incident happened it was considered as a watershed moment in India’s fight against the danger existing for the women in the society. However, five years down the line things have hardly changed, the recent Kathua and Unnao rape case highlighted the frailties that still exists in the society and are hindering the liberties of the women in India. The age old stigma still exists within the majority sections of the society, where women are treated with the patriarchal mindset and rape, marital rapes, sexual assault and harassment, female infanticide has gone haywire..

Five years have gone. These five years have been really difficult for us. We suffered a lot. Our emotional pain was enormous. Everyday girls are being raped and targeted for sexual assault, be it in Delhi or other states across the country.”

We are always ready to point fingers at girls. We never ask questions to our boys. If any rape takes place, we immediately raise questions about the behaviour of the victim, like: why did she step out so late at night? What was she doing so late outside? Why was she skimpily clad, etc..Is this a change we r expecting.??

For the rich, able to live in gated colonies and be chauffeured everywhere, the issue seems far removed from their experiences. They don’t have to negotiate the city’s dangerous streets alone at night..

At a time when India is emerging as one of the world’s biggest economies, it must be remembered that true development can be realized only when we are able to ensure the safety and security of our women.

Teacher's day n my memories

It’s teachers’ day and my friends on social media are busy recalling that one special teacher who they think changed their life in one way or the other. While some are discussing the looks, others are busy in posting their feelings on Twitter and Facebook. It looks like everyone has gone into flashback mode.
I am at home shifting my memory box to remember one such name but alas! Don’t I even have one teacher in my life who has ever inspired me, I am thinking. And the answer that comes from my heart is an emphatic NO.
People may not like me for this or may think that I am a bit weird but yes, no teacher in my school  has made an impression on my mind in these  years. I remember them only for their scoldings and their thick sticks...

real arithmetic and poetry of life has been taught by someone else.
He is silence. He is strength. He is enlightenment. He gives, and knows only to give. He is my saviour and I take refuge in him.
He is no professor he is my father....
My papa have given me n molu all the luxuries of life that he cn afford n beyond  he definitely has motivated us to achieve them. He has given us the freedom to choose things for my life.....
Back in school days, it was a customary tradition to gift pen to the teachers on the occasion of Teachers’ Day. ...as i glimpsed it in my school DAV ...i admitted there in class 6..before that i n molu were in vidya niketan...
Another tradition in our school for every student of the senior-most batch to choose a particular teacher (mostly favourite ones) and act like him/her for the day, during the school hours, taking 1 or 2 classes, adhering to the time -table of that particular teacher. Boys used to dress up in formal wear with neck-ties and girls dressed up in sarees or salwar-kameez. When I was in lower classes, the senior students used to come to our classrooms and it was a hilarious sight to see them make a pain-staking effort in acting like the teacher concerned..However, the only regret I have is not being able to take a class as i left DAV in class 10th.
But i alwz hated to donate money for teacher's day...lol....
but
I terribly miss Teachers’ Day celebrations at school. If God appears before me ever and asks me for a boon, I would want to be the school-going kid again. Almost all of my happiness is stored in that period of my life!....my special thanks to all my teachers since my childhood.....my brother for introducing reallity i think he is my best buddy motivator love everything....MOLU......Again dedicating him....along with chandan bhaiya.......love u all my classmate ....
  Pranesh raman.
